Hilary J. Bernstein, DHA

Dr. Hilary Bernstein is a licensed psychotherapist who specializes in treatments for depression and related mood disorders, anxiety, stress management, relationship related issues and/or grief and loss. She has clinical expertise in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and brief solution-oriented therapy. 

Dr. Bernstein is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of SC. In addition to her clinical experience, Dr. Bernstein has an extensive background in research in the areas of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), depression and related disorders.  She has numerous publications in the areas of depression, mood disorders, ECT, treatment efficacy and quality of life.  

Dr. Bernstein received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Tulane University where she majored in Psychology, a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of South Carolina and a Doctorate in Health Administration (DHA) from the Medical University of South Carolina.
