Hilary J. Bernstein, DHA

Licensed Therapist

Dr. Hilary Bernstein is a licensed psychotherapist who specializes in treatments for depression and related mood disorders, anxiety, stress management, relationship related issues and/or grief and loss.

Katie Frichette, DNP, APRN

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Frichette is a licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner providing medication management and supportive psychotherapy to adults and adolescents (ages 13 and up). Special interests include treating patients with mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, and maternal mental health.

Kathryn Gex, PhD

Psychologist

Dr. Gex is a licensed clinical psychologist trained in evidence-based treatments for depression, anxiety, and trauma/PTSD in adults, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Behavioral Activation (BA). She also specializes in motivational enhancement and behavioral approaches for adults struggling with substance use, as well as brief behavioral interventions.

William Mellick, PhD

Psychologist

Dr. Mellick has expertise treating psychopathology across development with specialization in disruptive behavior disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders. He is passionate about delivering evidence-based treatments to children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Mellick’s preferred treatment approaches include cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal psychotherapies, parent management training, and brief behavioral interventions.

Rachel Tomko, PhD

Psychologist

Dr. Tomko works with adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, stress, or difficulties with emotion regulation. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Debra Wallace, LISW-CP

Licensed Therapist

Debra holds a faculty position as a Clinical Counselor at MUSC Institute of Psychiatry. Her focus is bereavement/loss, and she works primarily with adults in middle years. Other interests include anxiety, mood disorders, and posttraumatic stress.

Sheresa Christopher, PhD, ABPP

Psychologist

Dr. Christopher is board certified in forensic psychology with expertise in working with youth, adults, and families experiencing the psychological impact of trauma, life stressors or adjustment-related concerns, legal-involvement, difficulty with emotion regulation and anger management, and other related concerns.

Alexis Garcia, PhD

Psychologist

Dr. Garcia is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in evidence-based treatments for children and adolescents. Dr. Garcia uses individual and family-based approaches to decrease behavior problems while increasing family cohesion and child success. Dr. Garcia is a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Therapist. She also provides support to adults experiencing significant parenting stress.

Christine Hahn, PhD

Psychologist

Christine Hahn is a clinical psychologist who works with adults and has expertise in using cognitive behavioral therapies to address traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, and substance use. She also has experience with women’s health issues including pregnancy loss and fertility problems. Clients can expect to learn strategies to manage painful emotions, thoughts, and memories so that energy can be put into creating meaningful experiences.

Angela Moreland, PhD

Psychologist

Dr. Angela Moreland specializes in treatment for trauma, PTSD, depression, and anxiety in adults and children, as well as behavior management and parent support in children. She has worked with children, families, and adults for over 10 years and is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with specialization in trauma-focused treatment and a range of supportive therapies.

Lisa Trautman, APRN

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Lisa Trautman is a dual board certified nurse practitioner in Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Practice. Lisa cares for families and individuals comprising of young to middle-late aged adults, adolescents, and children over the age of 10.

Jennifer Warthen, LISW-CP

Licensed Therapist

Jennifer is on faculty at MUSC Institute of Psychiatry and is the Children’s Director for Project Rex. She works with children, adolescents, and young adults. She specializes in helping clients with anxiety and other mood based disorders, stress, relationships, and transitions. She also provides skills based training for children, adolescents and their families with struggling ADHD and ASD.

Patrick Duffy, PsyD

Psychologist

Dr. Patrick Duffy is an assistant professor and psychologist for the Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs where he focuses on substance abuse and co-occurring challenges such as mood disorders and family difficulties. He has an extensive history in addressing these with both adults and adolescents.

Yulia Gavrilova, PhD

Psychologist

Dr. Yulia Gavrilova is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in evidence-based treatment for trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use as well as adjustment and emotional recovery after stressful events and traumatic injuries. She additionally has expertise in sport and performance psychology, including job performance optimization and personal growth to improve wellness and quality of life.

Jennifer Jones, MD

Dr. Jennifer Jones is a board certified psychiatrist at CPCS and provides medication-based treatment for mood and anxiety disorders. She also specializes in helping patients reach their alcohol and substance-related goals.

David R. Schultz, DO

Psychiatrist

Dr. David Schultz is a psychiatrist that specializes in medication-based treatment for adults with anxiety, mood disorders, and PTSD. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and Staff Psychiatrist at Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC.

Thomas W. Uhde, MD

Psychiatrist

Dr. Uhde is the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and has expertise in psychopharmacology and the investigation and treatment of mood, anxiety, sleep, and sensory processing disorders.

Brett Ziegler, MD

Psychiatrist

Dr Ziegler is a psychiatrist who works with adults, adolescents and children ages 5 years old and up. Her special interests include treating patients with depression and related mood disorders, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder or other trauma-related disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders.
